Israel: Encargan a Netanyahu formar nuevo gobierno

JERUSALÉN (AP) — El primer ministro de Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, tendrá la difícil tarea de formar un nuevo gobierno, informó la presidencia el miércoles.

El presidente Reuven Rivlin fracasó en su intento de mediar para la formación de un gobierno de unidad entre Netanyahu y su principal rival, Benny Gantz.

Rivlin y Netanyahu preveían hacer declaraciones en las próximas horas.

A Netanyahu le espera un camino cuesta arriba. Después de una elección reñida, su partido Likud junto con sus aliados controla 55 bancas, menos de las 61 requeridas para tener mayoría en el parlamento.

Su antiguo aliado, el partido Yisrael Beitenu, se niega a integrar gobierno con los socios ultrarreligiosos de Netanyahu. Y los partidos opositores antibelicistas difícilmente lo respaldarán.

Ahora tiene seis semanas de plazo para formar una coalición. Si fracasa, Gantz probablemente tendrá su oportunidad.
